Ean Tan
Tan Jun Hoe, Ean is a 23-year-old music enthusiast based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He began his musical journey with the violin at the age of 8. Throughout the years of passionate exploration in the music world, Ean had extensively widened his musical palette in various orchestral instruments, such as the flute, oboe, cello, and more.
Since high school, he was given the opportunity to conduct and lead class choirs at Chong Hwa Independent High School. He was proudly awarded the Best Conductor Award in 2013 and 2015. Ean was also the pioneer President of the Chong Hwa String Orchestra (formerly known as Chong Hwa Violin Society), leading the team to compete and perform in various competitions and events throughout Malaysia.
As he embarks on his tertiary education, he joined the TAR UC Choir and Dithyrambic Singers to further explore his vocal experiences. He was given the opportunity to perform a wide range of choral works, such as performing the Carmina Burana in 2018 and Final Fantasy in 2019, both with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO), under the baton of Roberto Abbado and Arnie Roth.
Despite having a full-time non-music job, he continues to devote his energy and time to pursue his musical journey. You may find him in many different community music organisations in Klang Valley, such as the Selangor Philharmonic Orchestra (SPO) and Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPAC) Orchestra as an oboist and violinist. In 2022, he was proudly chosen to perform with the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra in the Side-by-Side with the Thailand Phil project, under the baton of Alfonso Scarano and Dr. Akkrawat Srinarong.
