To engage with the community by providing a holistic Band Education of quality to the Youths of Sarawak and to share the joy of the art with those who might not have the opportunity to do so.

To develop and improve musical excellence within Bands and Ensembles around the region through the provision of a holistic music education that is affordable and accessible.
Our Goals
Quantity and Quality
To rapidly develop and improve the quality of Sarawak’s Wind Music Scene through state-wide collaborative outreach and educational training initiatives for schools and organisations
Sustainability
To develop, train and equip local band instructors, teachers and staffs with the basic skillset and knowledge on how to manage and run Band Programmes more efficiently and independently
Education
To create a Community Band Programme that is affordable and may provide students with a holistic, well-rounded education that is aimed at nurturing student qualities, and preparing them to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing world
Accessibility
To promote the benefits of a Band Education to Youths while lowering barriers of entry for new and emerging Bands through the provision of incentives, support and targeted assistance
Collaboration
To develop and sustain communication among all groups of professionals directly involved with the development and improvement of band curriculum and instructions
Advancement
To identify, study and evaluate issues in band supervision, curriculum and instructions, and to encourage research, evaluation and theory development in these areas
Opportunity
To create more employment opportunities in Sarawak (e.g. instrument repair and retail services, locally commissioned music, etc.) by developing and growing a local demand for these products and services
Appreciation
To increase music literacy and appreciation amongst Sarawakians while developing an audience base that is able to appreciate and support local music, arts and cultural events
Tourism
To prepare Sarawak to be an attractive premier destination in Malaysia to host international band-related festivals and events like Chiayi in Taiwan which hosts the famous Chiayi City International Band Festival annually
Community
To provide a platform where musicians and volunteers from various backgrounds can come together to contribute to the development of Sarawak’s Music and Wind Band Scene
