A Waterfront Spectacular Kuching: Thousands Enchanted by Music, Fireworks & Local Talent at Kuching Waterfront

The Kuching Waterfront was transformed into a realm of pure enchantment last night as 'A Waterfront Spectacular', presented by The Band Lab, captivated thousands of attendees with a breathtaking display of music, artistry, and pyrotechnics. The free public event, held at Zone A, drew immense crowds eager to experience the magic.

Under the masterful conducting of The Band Lab Founder, Jesmond Siew, a magnificent 65-piece orchestra serenaded the crowd with showstopping renditions of beloved Disney classics and favorites, including "Beauty & The Beast," "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes," "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," a "Frozen II Medley," and "The Circle of Life." The performance commenced with a captivating "Disney 100 Years of Wonder" opening number, setting a whimsical tone for the evening. A highlight of the night was the seamless fusion of traditional Sarawakian instruments with the orchestra, creating a unique and resonant soundscape that celebrated the state's rich cultural heritage.

The audience was further mesmerised by the soulful voices of Dell Lawrence, Ng Chien, Christine Chai, Taylor Louise, Ashwaree, and Shann Liaw, backed by The Voice Lab, The Band Lab’s new vocal initiative branch, and the graceful movements of dancers from Iris School of Ballet. The iconic DUN building served as a stunning, illuminated backdrop, complemented by dazzling water displays and a grand pyromusical fireworks show by PyroMaster Pyrotechnics & Events, where music and light danced in perfect harmony.

Adding to the excitement, attendees were among the first to meet LABBIE, The Band Lab's new semibreve mascot, and collect limited edition, event-specific stickers. The event also saw a special partnership with Ai-CHA Malaysia, who delighted the crowd by giving out free gifts, including Ai-Squash Lemonade, Thermal Bags, Fridge Magnets, and Ai-CHA Blind Boxes, all distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

The event was graced by the presence of Yang Berhormat Dato Sri Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, along with Yang Berhormat Datuk Snowdan Lawan, Deputy Minister for Creative Industry and Performing Arts, and Datu Sherrina Hussaini, Permanent Secretary for MTCP.
