Abdul Waie
Abdul Waie is an exuberant music educator who strives to hone his teaching skills. Pre-Covid era watched him travelled all over Malaysia to teach what he loved the most - Music!
Waie's vast experience in teaching various subjects such as musical theatre, marching band, orchestra, ensembles and peripatetic lessons in clarinet, flute and saxophone for the past 5 years helped to shape his career growth as an Educator. Waie is currently serving in Tunku Putra-HELP International School as the orchestra coordinator and music teacher for Cambridge's Milepost 3, Keystage 3 and IGCSE.
Waie worked closely with St. Joseph School's Marching Band's Music Director, Anthony Wong, since the beginning of 2012. Under Anthony's tutelage, Waie participated in many vital roles in the band for various music events and competitions. As one of the teaching staff, SJS Band recently returned from Rastede, Germany as 1st Runner – Up (Gold Medal) in the 64th International Rasteder Musiktage. In 2015, he led the band as the Conductor and successfully won a Gold Medal finish at the Yamaha Cup held at the Metlife Stadium in New York, USA winning top marks, amongst the various participating American High Schools along the Eastern seaport.
Armed with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance from UiTM's Faculty of Music and vast teaching experiences, he hopes to empower his students to be well-equipped musicians with a performer's mindset.
