SHOULD I COSPLAY?
Absolutely! Embracing the spirit of anime through cosplay enriches the overall experience, and we can’t wait to see your creative interpretations of your favourite characters! However, please ensure that your costumes and props adhere to our guidelines below.
Appropriateness: Costumes should be family-friendly and respectful to all ages. Avoid overly revealing attire.
Offensive Content: Refrain from wearing costumes that could be considered offensive or culturally insensitive. When in doubt, consult with our event staff in advance.
Safety: Ensure no sharp edges, protruding elements, or materials that could potentially harm you or others are part of your costume.
Visibility: If your costume limits visibility or mobility, a handler is required to assist and guide you throughout the venue.
Ventilation: For large, bulky, or fur-lined costumes, ensure proper ventilation to avoid overheating.
Prop Size: Props should not exceed 180cm in length to avoid obstruction or inconvenience to others.
Not Permitted:
- Realistic firearms or replicas
- Functional bows/crossbows
- Darts and slingshots
- Pyrotechnics/explosives
- Sharp arrows
- Wooden/metal bats
- Laser pointers
- Props exceeding 180cm in length
Permitted:
- Non-realistic weapons
- Replica firearms with visible orange tips
- Weapons made of plastic, wood, or foam
Our staff will inspect these items and have the authority to confiscate any deemed unsafe. Props used unsafely or inappropriately are subject to confiscation. Ensure your props are securely wrapped during transit to the venue to avoid any issues.

What is 'An Anime Symphony'?
An Anime Symphony is an orchestral tribute to the best of anime music organised by Persatuan Wind Orkestra Kuching (The Band Lab) in collaboration with local musicians from around Sarawak. The event is part of the celebration of 60 years of Sarawak’s independence and aims to showcase Sarawak’s rich arts, culture, and music through a live concert.
Are children allowed to attend the concert?
- Children below the age of 8 will NOT be allowed to attend the concert.
- Children aged 8 to 14 are allowed to attend, but they must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Are tickets seated?
No. Seating is first-come, first-served. You can sit in any available seat in your purchased ticket tier. However, please be respectful of other guests and do not save seats for others who have not yet arrived.
Please also note that ushers may direct your seating to various sections within your purchased ticket tier to ensure the maximum comfort of all attendees.
What should I wear to the concert?
You are welcome to come in casual attire or dress up if you prefer. Cosplay is also encouraged, but please ensure that your costume and props comply with our costume and props guideline above.
Is the concert venue wheelchair Friendly?
If you are interested in acquiring tickets for wheelchair accessibility, please reach out to us at contact@thebandlab.com to inquire about the availability of reserved spaces.
Can I buy merchandise at the concert?
Yes, there will be official merchandise available for purchase at the venue. However, if you buy them online while purchasing your tickets, you may be able to purchase them at an exclusive bundle discount.
Can I bring my own food and drinks to the venue?
No, unfortunately, food and drinks from outside are not allowed inside the venue. However, the school canteen will be available for on-site purchases should you wish to buy refreshments and snacks (only for the 2PM show).
Can I take photos or record videos during the event?
Yes, you can take photos and record videos for personal use, but please be respectful of the performers and other audience members. Flash photography is not allowed during the performances.
How do student tickets apply for the concert?
To purchase a student ticket, you will need to provide your valid student ID at the time of entry. Please note that student tickets may only allow seating in Student Seating Zones on a first-come, first-served basis. Please arrive early to secure your preferred seating area.
Can I get a refund if I am unable to attend?
Our refund policy allows for ticket refunds on a case-by-case basis. Please email us at contact@thebandlab.com to discuss your situation. Refund deadlines and processing fees may apply.
Alternatively, if you are unable to attend, you may also opt to transfer your ticket to someone else.

Where should I park my Vehicle?
Parking, while limited, is available at the venue and nearby public areas.
For your convenience, we recommend carpooling or using public transport, like Grab. Please avoid obstructing public and private pathways and residences.
Will there be any intermission during the concert?
Yes, there will be a 20 mins intermission during the concert for attendees to stretch their legs and visit the concession stands or merchandise booth.
